Besides, one research assistant (Ito) and three graduate students (Arai, Katsuta, Miyasaka) joined the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had oral presentation with title of \u201cMulti-Institutional Validation Study of Commercially Available Deformable Image Registration Software for Thoracic Images\u201d.<br>Recently, commercial DIR software can be used for clinical practice. But there is no data showing variation on DIR accuracy among institutions due to DIR software and DIR procedures. To determine the variation, we did multi-institutional validation study for commercial DIR software for the first time. Our result showed that there was large variation on DIR accuracy among institutions. In addition, even though the DIR software was same, there was moderate variation on DIR accuracy among institutions using this software. Our results could be helpful for establishing prospective clinical trials and for the widespread use of DIR software. This study was just published from IJROBP, so please see the paper if you know detailed information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During AAPM meeting, I had other presentations. One was the presentation in MIM user\u2019s meeting held in July 31. I talked about the Multi-institutional validation study and additional study using user guided DIR tool, that was Reg Refine implemented in MIM. The other was the presentation at Varian research meeting. Our submitted grant application for Varian is in the reviewer\u2019s process, but during this one year, we could update the results, so I explained the updated result briefly for Varian research staff.
