Dr. Noriyuki Kadoya, Dr. Yoshiyuki Katsuta, Yukito Tanaka, Ryota Tozuka, Taichi Hoshino, Hiromi Foo, Senri Hayashi and Zhangzhou Jie participated in the 36th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Radiation Oncology from the Medical Physics Group (JASTRO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senri Hayashi(M1)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This conference is about cancer treatment, and the theme of this year’s conference was “\u5a01\u98a8\u51db\u7136”. The word “\u5a01\u98a8” refers to dignity, while “\u51db\u7136” refers to a brave and firm appearance. The theme was chosen by the Congress Director in the hope that the field of radiation oncology would be further energized through the interactions of dignified veterans and young professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time, Yukito Tanaka and Ryota Totsuka (M2), and Senri Hayashi(M1), have presented at the conference. I presented on the evaluation of AI automatic contouring software. It was the first time for me to present at a conference, so I was very nervous, but I was relieved that I could finish my presentation without any problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After watching the presentations by M2’s students, I felt that I wanted to work harder from now on so that I can respond to any questions from the audience with confidence, just like my seniors.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In addition, about 40 companies showcased their products at the equipment exhibition, and I was able to listen to many of them talk about their products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was especially informative to hear detailed explanations of the products used at Tohoku University Hospital.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Furthermore, an information exchange meeting was held at the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a very enjoyable time with not only plethora of food but also performances by doctors. It was also a very valuable experience for me to able to communicate with doctors whom I normally do not have the chance to meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We held an exchange meeting with graduate students from Fujita Health University, Komazawa University, and Tokyo Metropolitan University.
Although more than half of the participants had never met each other before, we were able to interact with all of them and listen to the abstracts together during the conference, etc., thereby deepening exchanges with other schools.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

At the award ceremony, Dr. Kadoya was awarded the Outstanding Peer Review Award. Congratulations!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
