This marks a historic milestone as the first time a startup in Japan has secured Class III approval within the field of radiotherapy planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u25c6 A Message from Dr. Noriyuki Kadoya, Head of the Laboratory<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Over the 15 years since the founding of the Tohoku University Medical Physics Laboratory, we have relentlessly pursued the development of advanced radiotherapy technologies. Seeing our &#8216;Radiotherapy AI Technology&#8217;\u2014a fruit of this long journey\u2014successfully navigate rigorous regulatory scrutiny to achieve productization as a Class III SaMD fills our entire laboratory with immense pride and profound emotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the many graduate students who dedicated themselves to developing the foundational technology that made this real-world implementation possible. My heartfelt thanks also go to our faculty and staff, whose unwavering support, passionate mentorship, and rigorous research efforts have been indispensable. The daily passion and dedication of every single member formed the bedrock of this monumental achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is not our final destination. Our laboratory remains fully committed to pushing the boundaries of cutting-edge technology to save as many cancer patients as possible.
