Shohei Matsuda(M2)
We are pleased to report that seven of us, Mr. Katsuta (D4), Mr. Tomori (D2), Mr. Abe (D1), Mr. Kajikawa (M2), Mr. Sato (M2), Mr. Matsumoto (M2), and Mr. Matsuda(M1), gave oral presentations at the 115th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Medical Physics held at Pacifico Yokohama from April 12 to 15, 2018.
The 77th Annual Meeting of the Japan Radiological Society (JRS), the 74th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Radiological Technology (JSRT), the 115th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Medical Physics (JSMP), and the 2018 International Technical Exhibition of Medical Imaging (ITEM) were jointly held under the theme of “Dream-like Creative Science and People-friendly Radiology”. I was asked to give a presentation entitled “Evaluation of DIR accuracy” at the conference.
I gave a presentation entitled “Evaluation of DIR accuracy between MR images in prostate cancer patients for MR-guided radiotherapy. Recently, in implementing MR-guided radiotherapy using MR-Linac, which is expected to be a next-generation radiotherapy device, we tried to examine whether DIR between MR images is effective as a method to consider inter-fractional errors in risk organs. In the near future, we plan to conduct a study of DIR among MR images at Tohoku University Hospital. In the near future, when MR-Linac will be clinically introduced at Tohoku University Hospital, we will conduct further research on dose estimation using DIR, and we hope to report our findings in future conference presentations.
Dr. Katsuta, a fourth-year PhD student, presented a paper entitled “Treatment outcome estimation based on reconstructed patient anatomy received treatment beam,” in which he presented the results of a patient prognosis prediction system based on a log file that incorporates a radiation biological effect model. D. student, received the JSMP CyPos President’s Award for her presentation on “Treatment outcome estimation based on reconstructed patient anatomy received treatment beam”. Congratulations!
This was my first conference presentation at JSMP, and it was a very meaningful conference for me to deepen my research in the future, as I had a lively discussion with professors who are active in various fields. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the professors for providing us with such a valuable opportunity to present our research. Thank you very much.
