2018.9.18:International student (Mohammad Reza Parishan) came to our laboratory

International student (Mohammad Reza Parishan) came to our laboratory from Shiraz University in Iran (His stay: from September to next March). He is sccledued to do research about dosimetry in MR-Linac system.

Mohammad Reza Parishan (Medical Radiation Engineering, Shiraz University)

At the present time, I am a Ph.D. student at Shiraz University and also joined the Tohoku University Hospital as a research student since Sep.2018. My PhD thesis is in the field of Image Guided Ion Therapy (IGIT) and we aimed to investigate the use of MPI (Magnetic Particle Imaging) as a new method in the medical imaging for online target tracking in the moving organs such as lung, during ion beam (like proton and carbon beams) delivery in radiotherapy. Due to the use of the static and gradient magnetic fields in the MPI, there are many similarities between MR_guided linac systems and this new system. So, I joined the Medical Physics division at Tohoku University to use the experiences of Dr. Kadoya and his colleagues in the field of MR_guided linac systems and do some dosimetry projects in the presence of magnetic field.
Beside the research study, I hope learn more about history, culture and language of Japan that is very special and attractive.
