Yujiro Nakajima(D3)
We are pleased to report that Dr. Kadoya and I gave lectures at the symposium on adaptive radiation therapy, Mr. Kajikawa(M2) gave an oral presentation, Mr. Ikeda(D1) gave a poster presentation, and Mr. Abe(D1)attended the 32nd Annual Meeting of the High Precision External Radiation Radiation Division.
Under the theme of “Mastering”, this year’s conference featured presentations on the latest technologies that are being researched and clinically applied in the field of radiation therapy. The symposium featured many interesting presentations in the technical area, such as adaptive radiation therapy and artificial intelligence (AI), and in the clinical area, the pros and cons of ultra-high doses and their therapeutic effects, and new stereotactic radiotherapy. The conference was held at the prestigious Toranomon Hills in the heart of Tokyo, and the beautiful venue and smooth operation made for a wonderful conference.
I made a presentation at the symposium on adaptive radiation therapy. The title of my presentation was “Toward Clinical Introduction of Adaptive Radiotherapy: ART with New TomoTherapy,” in which I discussed the necessity, principles, and methods of adaptive radiotherapy, as well as the commissioning process for clinical introduction of the adaptive radiotherapy system installed in the new TomoThearpy Radixact series. I gave a lecture on the necessity of adaptive radiation therapy, its principles and methods, and the commissioning of the new TomoThearpy Radixact series adaptive radiation therapy system for clinical introduction. This was my first time to speak at a symposium, and I was nervous before the general discussion, but Dr. Kakutani was also present and made me feel at ease.
Finally, I would like to thank all the doctors who gave me guidance in giving my presentation, Dr. Sachiko Izumi of Tama General Medical Center who served as the chairperson, and the management for making this a wonderful conference.
