On October 3, 2026, Assistant Professor Katsuta and I attended and presented at the 206th conference of Medical Imaging and Information Sciences, held at Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine.

I gave a presentation titled “Exploration of Fibrotic Regions Associated with Radiation Pneumonitis Based on CT Values and Dose.” Building on the valuable discussions and experience gained from this presentation, I look forward to further advancing my research in the future.
Since this conference was held by the Medical Imaging and Information Sciences, it featured many presentations on modalities beyond radiation therapy, such as diagnostic radiology and fundus examination. The sessions delved deeply into image analysis and deep learning methodologies themselves, making it an extremely informative experience that offered fresh perspectives distinct from the radiation therapy-focused conferences I typically attend.
In the special lecture on AI agents by Professor Ito from Kyoto University, I learned that consensus-building support systems—where AI agents facilitate large-scale online discussions—have recently gained significant attention with the emergence of LLMs and are already being implemented in society. Learning about their real-world implementation was both surprising and inspiring, giving me great expectations for their future applications in the medical field.
On a side note, even though October had begun, Kyoto was still quite warm compared to Sendai—warm enough to spend time comfortably in short sleeves.
